Conditioning Recipes

Carrot Conditioner

This conditioner will make your hair so soft and springy!

1 ripe banana*
1 carrot*
1/3 cup of honey
¼ cup of olive oil

  • Boil the carrot until very soft
  • Spoon carrot and banana into blender and blend until smooth
  • Stir in honey and olive oil
  • Leave in hair for 45 minutes to 8 hours, covered with a plastic cap

*Make sure that there are no chunks in your mixture as they could dry and be difficult to wash out.
*Can be substituted for baby food

 

Avocado Pudding
This recipe is a good mix of protein and moisture if you find yourself needing both.

1 avocado*
½ cup of plain yogurt 

  • Mash avocado
  • Stir in the yogurt until smooth with no chunks
  • Leave in hair for 20 minutes to an hour, covered with a plastic cap

*Make sure that there are no chunks in your mixtures as they could dry and be difficult to wash out.

 

Lemon Aid
This conditioner is clarifying without being stripping and can also be used as a hair lightener. 

1 cup of lemon juice
1/3 cup of organic coconut oil 

  • Stir lemon juice into the coconut oil until well blended
  • Massage into scalp with fingertips
  • Leave in hair for 30 minutes and rinse well with cold water

 

Rosemary/Mint Rehab
This mix just feels SO good.

10 drops of rosemary oil*
10 drops of peppermint oil* 

  • Massage oils into the scalp with fingertips

*If this mixture should get into eyes, call on the Lord for mercy!

 

Strengthening Hair Mask

This is an excellent recipe for women with naturally fine hair. The formula aids in the strengthening every hair strand and keeps it strong to avoid breakage or split ends.

 

Prepare the following ingredients for this hair mask recipe:

 

½ banana

one egg

one tablespoon each of honey

olive oil, and coconut oil

two ounces of water.

 

Simply mix all ingredients together. Then, apply the mixture onto your hair for at least 30 minutes. You can use a thermal cap to reduce the amount of time needed for the formula to stay on the hair. When you are done, wash hair thoroughly with shampoo. Use cold water for the final rinse to seal the cuticles and keep moisture from dissipating quickly.

 

 

 

Deep Conditioning & Moisturising Mask

This is a very easy recipe to try at home and perfect for women looking to add moisture into their locks. You will need the following ingredients:

 

¼ cup of aloe vera gel

¼ cup of heated coconut oil.

 

Mix both ingredients into a single container to ensure that they are well incorporated. However, you can achieve a more creamy texture if you use a blender. Apply the mask onto the hair and leave it on for about 10-15 minutes before rinsing. You can also use olive oil as an alternative for this recipe if you cannot find coconut oil. However, the latter is preferred because it smells great on your hair.

 

 

For General Care

 

Even if you don’t have any specific issues with your hair, getting regular hair mask treatment is still recommended for care and maintenance. You can try this simple and effective recipe for natural hair care. Combine the following ingredients using a blender:

 

one egg

two tablespoons of honey

half a cup of mayonnaise

an ounce of water.

 

Leave the mixture on your hair for 30-40 minutes before rinsing it off. When you rinse, use shampoo and conditioner. A cold water rinse is also recommended for best results. Make this  a habit.
